The Couture Princess has been one of our top selling retractable leash styles since the beginning. We redesigned the leash to reduce printing errors and think the simplicity of the new and improved style qualifies it’s name change to Couture Queen. We’ve kept the main graphic that pet parents and store owners love so much but simply cleaned up the dots in the background. The result is a simple and clean look that can’t go wrong.
And we’re also super excited to announce that we have a new color option for the boy dogs that have long loved this retractable leash. The Couture Prince features a beautiful baby blue heart and crown that’s sure to dazzle on any walk.
Another detailed review of our OzPure treats and chews from Australia from awesome the awesome husband/wife bloggers over at My Dog Likes. Why is it that we love everything that comes out of France? This adorable French Bulldog named Teo Jasmin is no exception. He sports different personas that puts big smiles on our faces and he can be found on bowls, beds, and retractable leashes. Not just any cheap retractable, the license has selected the Avant Garde Retractable Leash for their beloved Teo. These leashes are constructed of high quality materials, use only all-belt nylon leash, has a rubberized ergonomic handle as well as a one-button brake button system. All this comes with a 3 year warranty on the function of the leash as well.

Amanda, their human mom loved the packaging but it’s probably more important to find out what the doggies thought of the treats themselves.
Read the full review here and even watch a video of them chomping on the chews.
Remember when dogs were named Fido and Rover? Nowadays when someone mentions their dog, the name isn’t enough to tell you if it’s a human or canine. It’s absolutely true that we are humanizing our four-legged family members. In fact, about half of the names on this list are names of human kids that I know.We don’t even call them pets anymore…they’re our family and babies.Top Dog Names of 2015 by Rover.com

Of course don’t forget to print them for yourself…looks great on the foyer console next to your dog’s leash.
These printables are completely free. We do ask that if you use them on your blog or site, you reference back to us. Can not be reproduced for profit. Please respect that someone at 26 Bars & a Band actually designed these and is offering them to our lovely friends and fans.

Summer is officially here! Kids are on Summer break, pool parties are in full swing, and plans for your 4th of July BBQ is underway. Summer means fun but it also means “heat!”. Here are 4 easy tips for incorporating your dog into your fun plans.
1. Pool Safety: People assume all dogs can swim but according to this interesting article, it depends on your dog type. Make sure to teach your dog how to get in AND OUT of the pool or use a dog ramp so they can get out. Read the full article here.
2. 4th of July Safety: We all know fireworks scare our pets but it’s more than that. This article from the ASPCA has great tips including not putting glow jewelry on your pets because of what’s inside.
3. Kid Safety: I love this great article with awesome illustrations on what children should not do around pets. I am definitely going to share this with my kids and discuss the illustrations with them. Another great resource is an awesome book I was given when I was pregnant called “Don’t Lick the Dog”. You can find it here.
4. Hot Car Safety: I think you all know better than to leave a pet in a hot car (even with the windows cracked and even for just quick errand) but what do you do if you see a dog trapped inside? Peta offers some tips. Most Interesting Man

“Adopt & Shop values partnerships with brands who share our commitment to supporting the happiness and safety of companion animals,” said Aimee Gilbreath, Executive Director, Michelson Found Animals’ Adopt and Shop. “We’re honored that 26 Bars & a Band has chosen Adopt & Shop as the recipient of their holiday sales donation; and we know pet parents from around the community will share our excitement for 26 Bars & a Band’s stylish leashes that support our worthy cause.”
“Deciding to partner with Found Animals was a no-brainer for us. Their core values of the Adopt & Shop concept is sheer genius,” said Sandi Kaneko, President of 26 Bars & a Band. “Plus, all of our animals are rescues so their mission hits home”.
